Vincent Savourat, technical advisor for high-level sports field maintenance (Ligue 1, Ligue 2, national and Top 14 fields) answers our questions:

How did you come to use the Horto and Diehard Turf Tandem? For what purpose?

The first objective is to find technical and natural solutions (UAB) to reduce the use of phytosanitary products. What's more, the new regulations due to come into force on July 16 mean that we need to be ahead of the game in our practices.

What approach?

The substrates we use are, by definition, very poor, as they are predominantly mineral (sand). In the past, we adopted a "vacuum policy", using all the products at our disposal to eradicate all pathogens! Today, we've realized that we need to adopt a different way of working. The protection of our employees and players has become an essential issue.

What are the results?

In the overall evolution of our practices (mechanical tillage, choice of seeds, water management, etc.), the introduction of microorganisms was an obvious choice. We therefore selected Tandem Horto and Diehard Turf for our protocols in 2021. We didn't need to use any phytosanitary products, while maintaining quality in line with our customers' objectives, and all this in a year prone to disease!
